Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 July 2026

This policy explains what personal data Beat Predictors collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have — in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.

The short version: we collect what we need to run a fair, competitive prediction game — your account, your predictions, and your subscription. We never sell your data, and gambling-style profiling has no place here because there is no gambling.

1.Who we are

Beat Predictors ("Beat Predictors", "we", "us") operates the Beat Predictors website and web application (together, the "Service") — a skill-based sports prediction games platform. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at support@beatpredictors.com.

2.Personal data we collect

We collect the following categories of data:

  • Account data — your username, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). Optionally, profile details you choose to add.
  • Gameplay data — your predictions, picks, points, streaks, rankings, game-mode participation, and league memberships (including leagues you create or administer).
  • Subscription and payment data — your plan (Free, Pro, or Elite), subscription status, and billing history. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your full card number.
  • Communications data — messages you send us, and your notification preferences.
  • Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, and interactions with the Service, collected through server logs and, where applicable, cookies (see section 8).

We do not intentionally collect special categories of personal data (such as health or political data), and we ask that you do not include such data in usernames or league names.

3.How and why we use your data

We use your personal data for the following purposes, on the legal bases shown:

  • Providing the Service (accounts, predictions, leagues, leaderboards, scoring, performance insights) — necessary for the performance of our contract with you.
  • Processing subscriptions and payments — performance of our contract and compliance with legal obligations (tax and accounting).
  • Service notifications (deadline reminders, results, league activity) — our legitimate interest in operating an engaging service; you can switch these off in your notification settings at any time.
  • Marketing emails — only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link in each email.
  • Security, fraud and abuse prevention (including fair-play enforcement such as detecting duplicate accounts) — our legitimate interest in keeping the games fair and the Service secure.
  • Analytics and product improvement — our legitimate interest in understanding how the Service is used; consent-based where cookies or similar technologies require it.

4.Information visible to other players

Beat Predictors is a competitive game. Your username, your points, ranks, and streaks, and (after kick-off) your predictions are visible to other players on global leaderboards and in any public or private leagues you join. Choose a username you are comfortable displaying publicly — it does not need to identify you.

League administrators can see the membership list of leagues they manage.

5.Who we share data with

We never sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers (processors) who help us run the Service under data processing agreements:

  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers — running our application, databases, and background jobs.
  • Email delivery providers — sending account and notification emails.

We may also disclose data where required by law, to enforce our Terms & Conditions, or as part of a business transfer (in which case this policy continues to apply).

6.International transfers

Some of our providers process data outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards: an adequacy decision of the European Commission (or UK equivalent), or the Standard Contractual Clauses together with additional measures where needed. You can request a copy of the relevant safeguards by contacting us.

7.How long we keep your data

  • Account and gameplay data — for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days; anonymised gameplay statistics (with no link to you) may be retained to preserve historical league and leaderboard integrity.
  • Billing records — up to 7 years, as required by tax and accounting law.
  • Server logs — typically no longer than 12 months, unless needed for an ongoing security investigation.

8.Cookies and similar technologies

We use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — to keep you signed in and secure your session. These do not require consent.
  • Analytics cookies — only where you have given consent through our cookie banner, to understand how the Service is used. You can change your choice at any time in your cookie settings.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

9.Your rights

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Eraseyour data ("right to be forgotten");
  • Restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format;
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@beatpredictors.com. We respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); in the EU, the data protection authority of your member state.

10.Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Where the law of your country sets a higher age of digital consent (up to 16 in some EU member states), parental consent is required below that age. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

11.Security

We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and the principle of least privilege for our systems and staff. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we review our measures regularly and will notify you and the relevant authority of any personal data breach where legally required.

12.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves — for example, when we add new leagues, sports, or features. For material changes we will notify you by email or in-app before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version.
